The provision of information to assist staff in planning their commute to the new office began almost a year before the move, with the production of a bi-monthly newsletter for staff. As the date of relocation approached, the newsletter was issued more frequently. A specific section of the staff intranet was created and regularly updated and archived. These information sources highlighted the benefits of the new location, and provided specific information about public transport and walking and cycling options. The 131 500 Transport InfoLine was widely publicised among staff to encourage people to begin exploring the public transport options for their new commute.

RTA staff members moving to the new office attended a series of workshops, which included detailed information about the transport options that would be available to them in North Sydney. Employees were provided with an information kit containing fact sheets about the relocation, an A4 printed Transport Access Guide (TAG), for the new office, and pens and magnets publicising the Transport InfoLine. The RTA also produced a comprehensive online TAG. This user-friendly tool, available on the staff intranet, includes clear information about how to access the new office by walking, cycling, bus, train and ferry. Decisions about using public transport are made easier with the provision of detailed information about timetables, routes and the cost of fares http://www.transmarketing.com.au/TAG/home.html.
